Secretary
UW Society of Physics Students
Student chapter that grows physics community via talks, tours, mentoring, outreach, and research connections. Runs events, trips, and peer networks.

When I transferred to UW I felt like an imposter. To make physics navigable and welcoming, I wanted to demystify research,
connect students with mentors and labs, and turn curiosity into community through building inclusive spaces where peers from
all backgrounds can participate, lead, and belong.
My chapter's efforts have been rewarded. We've earned SPS Outstanding Chapter Award 2 years in a row, launched a debut research symposium with 100+ RSVPs, a trip to
tour LIGO, a 6-week grad-school workshop, and the first ever department-wide Physics Spirit Week. Our efforts were published
in SPS Observer magazine, and we have grown an active membership base to 117.

Teaching Assistant
UW Introductory Physics
I tutored Phys 123, an introductory physics course with hands-on tutorials and labs. Students build simple models to explain waves and diffraction using Excel and Python.

I led a weekly tutorial and lab, ran demos, answered questions, wrote/updated worksheets, coached teams, and kept class inclusive while practicing semi-Socratic questioning.

The course focused on hands-on modeling, encouraging students to shift their focus from "black box" physics to designing their own theories. I gained strong teaching skills and a deeper appreciation for simple models that are often taken for granted.

Mentor
UW Physics Mentorship Program
The Undergraduate Physics Mentoring Program (UGPMP) aims to pair mentors, who are well-settled in the physics major, with mentees, who are thinking of majoring in physics or have been recently admitted as a major. They aim to provide support for all students interested in or already admitted to UW Physics, and mentor-mentee pairs are selected based on shared identities, experiences, and interests.

I am a 3-year participant as both a mentor and mentee. I work hard to forge meaningful friendships with my mentees and best support their needs through weekly meetings, professional guidance, and connecting them with research opportunities to help support the next generation of physicists.

President
Tolo Chapter
Mortar Board National Honor Society
Mortar Board is a national service and honor society devoted to empowering communities demonstrating exceptional leadership,
scholarship, and service.

Amid growing political violence and Seattle's housing crisis, I chose to turn fear in my community into radical positivity and
meaningful action. I reactivated Mortar Board to build a platform for service, to mobilize students, and build inclusive teams with
accountability and a bias for impact.

We started from zero and built a thriving chapter. We forged a long-term collaboration with Backpack Brigade and delivered
5,100 weekend meals, ran a used book drive to raise $1,300, and grew active membership. I've learned to set vision, build
coalitions, and design systems so impact scales and lasts with my team.

Physics & Math Tutor
Seattle Tutoring Services
A private math and science tutoring network that provides one-on-one academic tutoring and test prep for K-12 and college students in Seattle. Matches tutors with families.

I planned 1:1 in-person sessions, diagnosed gaps, designed practice sets, taught physics/math, tracked progress, and communicated with parents. My clients achieved measurably improved grades and confidence. Together, we succeeded in improving exam scores and study habits, and I earned repeat clients and referrals.
